SCHOLARS PROGRAM

ONE Project is committed to making a difference by bringing people from different backgrounds together to address social needs through education and volunteerism. Our goal with the Student Scholars Program is to create a network of young people who are deeply invested in giving back to the community and provide them with the resources, ideas, and training to carry out their visions for the future. 

 

Through the generosity of our community, ONE Project will award 6-8 high school sophomores/ juniors each with a $500 scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded in December in their junior/senior years upon completion of their Community Service Project.

 

To be eligible to apply for the ONE Project Student Scholars Program, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

 

  • When applying, be enrolled as a high school sophomore/junior progressing towards senior graduation in the spring of 2024/2025.

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to community service and demonstrate the ability to inspire others.

  • Address a social need in a significant way and impactful experience.

  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.

  • Have a willingness to create and manage a Community Service Project.

 

The Community Service Project is a project of the recipient’s choosing that meets the following goals:

 

  • Creating opportunities to unite the community to address its needs.

  • Focusing on topics bringing awareness to issues facing the wider community.

  • Facilitating interfaith dialogue to enhance mutual understanding and respect for differences.

 

ONE Project will also host and facilitate mandatory leadership training for all the ONE Project Scholars that will provide focused time to:

 

  • Meet and listen to selected speakers in a structured Speaker Series Program.

  • Collaborate with mentors and others on a community service project.

  • Network and exchange ideas with other scholarship recipients.
